Dr. Melvin Field
Dr. Field is a Florida neurosurgeon with both clinical and research interests in Sports-related neurosurgery. He specializes in the neurosurgical management of the elite athlete and in minimally invasive cranial and spinal neurosurgery. He has published numerous articles on the topic of sports-related concussion and has spoken both nationally and internationally on sports-related neurosurgical injuries. Dr. Field practices neurosurgery in Orlando, Florida and is the director of Florida Hospital Health System’s NeuroCritical Care. He is the creator and co-director of Florida’s Sports Concussion Program and his current research interests include identifying non-invasive means to better diagnose, treat and predict recovery from sports-related concussion. .
Dr. Michelle Dolske
Dr. Dolske is a Director of Florida Hospital Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine. She received her Ph.D. in Medical/Clinical Psychology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she specialized in Neuropsychology, which is the study of brain-behavior relationships. Her Internship in Clinical/Neuropsychology was completed at the University of Chicago Medical Center. Dr. Dolske completed her Post-doctoral Fellowship in Neuropsychology at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. She has been with Florida Hospital since 1995 and specializes in pediatric neuropsychology, serving children with brain injuries, brain tumors, leukemia, epilepsy, learning disabilities, ADHD, pervasive developmental disorders, and other neurological illnesses.
Anthony LoGalbo, Ph.D.
Dr. LoGalbo is a clinical neuropsychologist specializing in the evaluation and treatment of concussion, traumatic brain injury, geriatric memory loss, and dementia. He has additional expertise in the following areas: assessing cognitive functioning among patients with a variety of other neurological illnesses, including stroke, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, and brain tumor; assisting patients and their family members in compensating for, adjusting to, and coping with the loss of physical and cognitive function often associated with traumatic injuries and chronic neurological illnesses; and, addressing the emotional, behavioral, and cognitive difficulties patients with these types of injuries and illnesses experience toward improving their daily functioning and overall quality of life. Dr. LoGalbo was raised in Sarasota, Florida and earned his Ph.D. in Medical/Clinical Psychology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He completed his Psychology Internship in Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Washington and his Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Neuropsychology and Gerontology at the Veterans’ Administration Puget Sound Health Care System, both in Seattle, Washington.

Michael Westerveld, Ph.D., ABPP-CN
Dr. Westerveld is a board certified Clinical Neuropsychologist. Dr. Westerveld earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University, completing an internship at the VA Medical Center specializing in Neuropsychology. Following a post-doctoral fellowship in Neuropsychology at Yale University, Dr. Westerveld joined the faculty at Yale in the Department of Neurosurgery where he was the Director of the Neuropsychology program until December, 2007. Dr. Westerveld joined the Medical Psychology Associates at Florida Hospital in January, 2008 where he specializes in lifespan neuropsychology, with interests in epilepsy, developmental disorders, traumatic brain injury (including sports-related concussion) and medical neuropsychology.

Michael Dougherty, ATC, LAT
Michael Dougherty is a Certified Athletic Trainer through the NATABOC and Licensed in the state of Florida. Mr. Dougherty earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Pittsburgh in Athletic Training with a Specialization in Sports Medicine in 1990. Mr. Dougherty joined Florida Hospital Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine in 2002 and is currently the Sports Medicine Team Leader. He specializes in athletic injuries in the prevention and treatment of athletic injuries. His interests include runners injuries, performance arts including water ski injuries and gymnastics and sports concussion management.

Ryan Boyer, ATC,LAT
Ryan Boyer is a graduate of the University of North Florida where he earned a Bachelor Science in Health with a Track in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training. He became a Certified Athletic Trainer upon graduation in June 2000. Boyer then went on to serve as the first full time Certified Athletic Trainer at Rockledge High School in Rockledge, Florida from 2001 to 2007. In this position, he built the Athletic Training Program from the ground up. During his time at RHS, Boyer achieved two State Championships in Football, one State Championship in Baseball, one State Runner-Up in Boys’ Soccer, three consecutive State Wrestling appearances, State Semifinalist appearances in Boys’ Soccer and Softball. He also served as Athletic Trainer for Space Coast Hurricanes of the Southeast Junior Hockey League from 2004 to 2007. Boyer served as an Athletic Trainer for the Brevard Blue Ducks of the United States Basketball League and Independent League from 2004 to 2006. It was Boyer’s passion for the profession of Athletic Training and its impact on high school athletics that lead him to his current position at Florida Hospital Rehab & Sports Medicine as High School Outreach Coordinator and Sports Concussion Program Coordinator.Boyer is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, the Southeast Athletic Trainers’ Association, and the Athletic Trainers’ Association of Florida.
